For more than nine generations, the Argentine wine Navarro Correas has won 14 awards worldwide, including 8 times the Tin Atkin, one of the most prestigious international wine awards.
The brand has 4 vineyards: Agrelo, Los Árboles, El Molino and Las Palmas, whose characteristics endow its wineries with innumerable oenological properties. Navarro Correas was founded around 1800 by Don Juan de Dios Correas, who was the first of the lineage to plant the first vines to sell them to other wineries in the region. Afterwards, it was Don Enmundo Navarro Correas who created the brand with the surname Navarro Correas and, since then and for more than a century, this Argentine wine has been produced in a sustainable way
Looking at the vineyards, tasting the bouquet and recognizing the success of its wineries is a privilege for the Argentine wine industry, where Navarro Correas has a place of honor and a great recognition for its interest in taking care of the environment and continuing to produce in a sustainable way for the environment. Varieties of Navarro Correas red wines in Pampadrugstore
As marketers of Navarro Correas wines, Pampa Drugstore offers a private collection, a winemaker's selection and two reserves: Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec
Here is a brief summary of their characteristics and components to help you make the decision that best suits your needs and preferences
Cabernet Sauvignon Private Collection
The Navarro Correas Cabernet Sauvignon private collection has a particularity: its label designs display works of art by established and new Argentine artists. This particularity is also combined with the following tasting notes: smooth texture, long finish with freshness, and a taste of blackberries, sweet paprika and spices that come together in its strong violet color.
This collection is ideal to serve at 18° C and accompany cured and semi-cured cheeses, roasted red meats, stuffed pastas and even lamb seasoned with spices or fine herbs.
The grapes are harvested in Perdriel and Agrelo in the department of Luján de Cuyo, as well as in Tunuyán, located in the Barrancas del Maipú district, specifically in the Uco Valley region. In addition, they have six months of contact with oak and are fermented in steel tanks during 15 days of maceration.
Navarro Correas: Winemaker selection
The winemaker's selection can boast the following recognitions: the Tim Atkin award with 94 points, and its appearance in the Decanter Word Wine Awards lists. And no wonder! The grape type of this Argentine wine is 100% Malbec, with 14% alcohol and a contact with French oak wood for 18 months
Its fruity texture is velvety and with a prolonged effect in the mouth, with silky tannins and spicy finish. It is produced in the Uco Valley of Mendoza province, grown in sandy soil with gravel, and has a high drainage capacity.
Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
This wine has an intense ruby color, resulting from the combination of flavors and aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, tobacco, herbs and paprika. It has been fermented in stainless steel tanks, with a maceration of 25 days and contact with oak barrels for 12 months. This results in a wine for structured tannins, velvety texture and a medium-high body.
The reserve red wine Cabernet Sauvignon Navarro Correas, according to the winery, seeks the combination of fruit and wood, but also has an important value for the history of the Navarro Correas winery. It has been grown in Gualtallary and Los Árboles, in the Uco Valley, and in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo. It is perfect for tasting with ripe cheeses and red meats with spices.
Navarro Correas Reserva Malbec
Like all the wines of the Navarro Correas Reserve, this Malbec wine also honors the winemaking legacy that, for more than a century, has honored the family. It is made from 100% Malbec grapes, with aromas of plums, cherries, black pepper, red fruits and violets. It has been 12 months in French and American oak barrels, with a cellaring potential of 6 years, and projects round and firm tannins, with a medium-high body.
The grapes for this Argentine wine were grown in San Carlos and Tunuyán, Uco Valley, and Agrelo. You can pair it with roasts, risottos, mature cheeses and stuffed pastas, at an ideal temperature of 18 °C.
